This year’s performances will feature three world premiers:  Company dancer Monique Haley will present “Uhuru”, a full company piece featuring an afrobeat style of music.  Artistic Director Frank Chaves will debut a group piece, “Tuscan Rift”, set to music by Rene Aubry and Andrew Bird, and a signature style duet entitled “Sentir em Nos (Even for Us)”.  Also scheduled this season are the return of Robert Battle’s “Train”, and “Underground Movements”, featuring choreography by Frank Chaves, an original score by Evan Solot, and live vocals from members of the Chicago Children’s Choir.

Workshops

River North Chicago workshops offer the opportunity to study with Artistic Director Frank Chaves, Assistant to the Artistic Director Sara Bibik, River North Chicago company members, River North Chicago alumni, and guest faculty including Sherry Zunker, River North Chicago's co-artistic director emerita, and Ballet Mistresses Claire Bataille and Laura Wade.

The Company hosts workshops throughout the year in our home studios in Chicago, offering a professional environment, an average class size of 30 dancers, and a focus on individualized instruction.
